1st Edition in the Naruto Mythos TCG: What It Actually Means
Set 1 of the Naruto Mythos TCG was printed in two editions: 1st Edition as the launch print, then a stamped 2nd Edition with different packaging and different chase cards. Set 2 released in 1st Edition first, and the publisher's official roadmap says Set 2 will also come in a 2nd Edition, with no date given yet; Set 1 is the only completed example so far. This page explains how the editions work, how to tell them apart, and what the publisher has actually said. There is a date on every claim so you can check us.

The short version
- The Naruto Mythos TCG is published by Cicaboom, an Italian company, and Set 1, the only completed release so far, had two prints: a 1st Edition at launch, and a 2nd Edition about two months later that carries a 2nd Edition stamp, different packaging, and different Secret and Gold chase cards (publisher's own update, 26 March 2026, linked below). Checked 30 Aug 2026.
- The publisher has stated in writing that Set 1's 1st Edition "will no longer be reprinted or distributed" (official America release FAQ). That is the publisher's claim about Set 1, not a promise about any later set. Checked 30 Aug 2026.
- The publisher's own FAQ says Set 1's 1st Edition was only available in Europe and the UK, and the Set 1 product on Australian shelves is 2nd Edition (Australian retail listings name it as such; our checks 27 and 30 August 2026). Set 2 "Shinobi Shiren" is the first Naruto Mythos set offered through the game's official Australian distributor in 1st Edition.

What the publisher has said, in order
On 13 March 2026 Set 1, "Konoha Shido", launched in Europe and the UK. Thirteen days later, on 26 March 2026, Cicaboom announced a 2nd Edition of the set, saying some fans had difficulty getting the products. The 2nd Edition announcement spells out what makes the editions different: the packaging of display boxes and booster packs is different, the alternative Secret Rare numbered cards are different, and each edition carries its own Gold chase cards.

Later, the publisher's America release FAQ stated that Set 1's 1st Edition "was only available in Europe and the UK and will no longer be reprinted or distributed".
For Set 2, the publisher's official roadmap says "Set 2 will be available in both First Edition and Second Edition"; it gives no date for the Set 2 2nd Edition. The same roadmap says Set 3 "will be released in both First Edition and Second Edition" too.
That is the official record on editions, in short: two prints for Set 1 (the only completed example so far), the 2nd print visibly stamped and packaged differently, a written statement that Set 1's launch print is done, and a roadmap that gives Set 2 and Set 3 a 2nd Edition too.

How to tell 1st Edition from 2nd Edition
- The product title. Retail listings name the edition. So does the publisher.
- The packaging. 2nd Edition product is stamped as 2nd Edition and uses different box and pack art, per the publisher's update. The exact placement and look of the stamp we have not yet verified with our own eyes: when our own stock arrives we will photograph it, whichever way the check goes, and put the photos here.
- The chase cards. Each edition has its own Secret Rare numbering and its own Gold cards, per the publisher's 2nd Edition update. Whether ordinary base cards differ between editions is not established; do not assume a single common card tells you anything.

What this history does not tell you
- An edition marker is not a valuation. We sell cards; we do not give investment advice, and we do not predict prices. Nobody knows what any Naruto Mythos product will be worth later, and most new card games cool off after launch.
- The 2nd Edition exists to make cards easier to get. The publisher created it because the launch print undershot demand. Wider supply is the stated goal, and wider supply works against scarcity.
- Set 1's story is Set 1's story. Each set is its own print decision by a young publisher whose dates and territories have already shifted more than once: the Set 2 pre-release weekend planned for 28 to 30 August 2026 was cancelled by the publisher, and part of the Set 2 line moved to a later wave. Treat every "this will sell out" claim you read anywhere, including from shops, as a guess.
- A stamp is not proof of anything else. Edition marks tell you which print you are looking at. They do not tell you a product is genuine, complete, or fairly priced.

Where Australia fits
- Set 1: Australia was not a launch territory. The Set 1 product sold in Australia is 2nd Edition; Australian retail listings name it as such (our checks, 27 and 30 August 2026).
- Set 2 "Shinobi Shiren": 1st Edition booster displays released in Europe and the UK on 4 September 2026, the date the publisher's updated Set 2 announcement (re-read 24 September 2026) calls the official global release. That announcement also says part of the line (the Special Pack, Design A) moved to a second wave in October, exact date still to be confirmed by the publisher. The publisher's Set 3 announcement says Set 2 is not simultaneous worldwide, and its America release FAQ says the newly added territories, Australia included, receive Set 2 a few weeks later, and that Special Packs and Team Sets stay exclusive to Europe and the UK until Set 3. When Australian shelves actually have stock varies store by store; Australian retailers already list Set 2 preorders (our 30 August 2026 check found open listings). This is expected to be the first 1st Edition Naruto Mythos product available to Australian buyers; we will re-date this line the day our own cartons land.
- Set 3 "Akatsuki": announced 27 May 2026 as the first Naruto Shippuden set and the start of synchronised global releases that include Australia. The publisher's Set 3 announcement now gives early 2027 for both the pre-release and the release, and its official roadmap lists Set 3 for early 2027; that announcement first listed November dates, so treat early 2027 as announced, not final. Australian retailers already list Set 3 preorders (our 24 September 2026 check).

Not the same thing: the other Naruto cards
Three different products get called "Naruto cards" in Australia right now, and mixing them up is expensive:
- Naruto Mythos TCG (this page): a playable trading card game by Cicaboom, launched in Europe in March 2026, now reaching Australia.
- Kayou Naruto cards: Chinese collectible cards. Widely available, but they are collectibles, not part of this game, and they have no edition system like the one described here.
- NARUTO CARD GAME by Bandai: a separate trading card game announced on 18 June 2026 and planned for release in 2027. It is not out yet and it is not this game. Source: ICv2's announcement coverage.

If you are buying 1st Edition product
- Check the product title names the edition, and ask the seller for a photo of the actual box being sold, not a stock image.
- Keep the packaging. For Set 1, the publisher says 2nd Edition boxes and packs are packaged differently, so the packaging is part of the edition record.
- Provenance beats assertion. Our own stock is committed through the game's official Australian distribution channel, and when it lands, the listings will state exactly what we verified on the cartons in hand.
