First-Print BP01: How to Identify It
The first print run of "Dawn of Palpagos" carries an officially confirmed packaging error that future reprints will correct — and a corrected run now has a date: the 2nd Edition ships late October 2026, marked with a Roman numeral II on every card. Here is what Bushiroad has confirmed, what collectors report, and exactly where our own boxes stand.

Reprint watch — the announcement landed: Bushiroad posted the details on 4 September 2026. Additional 1st Edition shipments arrive in September, and a 2nd Edition of "Dawn of Palpagos" ships late October 2026, with every 2nd Edition card marked with a Roman numeral II in the bottom right corner — the official post, read that day.

The short version
- Bushiroad has officially confirmed a printing error on first-run BP01 — a misspelling of the word "Palworld" on the packs and box — and says it will be adjusted in future reprints (official BP01 page).
- Collector and retailer listings show the misspelling reading "Palword", in the top-right corner of the box and each pack. Bushiroad's own notice names the error without showing it.
- No card-level first-print marking has been officially disclosed — the notice mentions only packs and box. Until that changes, the packaging is the identifier, so keep your box and wrappers.

What Bushiroad has said
The official BP01 product page carries a notice stating that "A printing error (Misspelling of the word 'Palworld') was found on the packs and box of the product", with an apology and a commitment to adjust it in future reprints. That is the whole official record as of 16 August 2026: the error exists on first-run packs and boxes, and corrected printings will follow at some point.

Where the error sits
Bushiroad's notice doesn't show the misspelling, so the placement detail comes from the market: retailer listings describe it plainly — US retailer Game Nerdz, for one, states the booster box and booster pack carry the "Palword" misprint in the top right corner — and collector listings photograph exactly that. As of 16 August 2026 we can show the pack half ourselves — see the next section. The booster box badge is still second-hand for us: we hold no BP01 boxes yet.

What the badge doesn't tell you
The misspelling is a packaging detail, not a proof of anything. It does not tell you a pack is genuine — a counterfeit copying current packaging copies the badge along with everything else, so a badge photo can tell you which printing you're looking at, never whether the product is real.
Update, 4 September 2026: a corrected printing now has a date. The 2nd Edition ships late October 2026, and every 2nd Edition card carries a Roman numeral II in the bottom right corner — from then on the printings separate at a glance. One open question we will not guess at: Bushiroad has also announced additional 1st Edition shipments for September, and nothing published says whether those still carry the misspelling or ship corrected. We will check a September pack when we can, and date what we find here.

We've now filmed one ourselves (16 August 2026)
Our first video opens two Palworld trial decks from our own retail stock. At 3:52 the top-right badge on the booster pack from the Red-Blue deck reads "Palword" on camera, up close — our own first-hand look at the error described above.
Scope, plainly: that is one pack. One pack is not a rule about every pack, and it says nothing about the booster boxes, which are a separate product we don't hold yet. Bushiroad's notice names the packs and the box of the BP01 booster product — the trial deck boxes we opened don't carry the badge at all; it was on the booster pack sealed inside.
How the filming ran, since it affects what the footage proves: both trial deck outer seals came off camera — the Red-Blue seal before recording started, the Green-Purple seal during a visible cut. The booster packs themselves stayed sealed until you see them cut open on camera. Both decks and both packs came out of our own retail stock: no review units, nothing supplied to us for coverage, no sponsorship.
That pack pulled Chillet – Dragon Whisperer, EBP01-025, rarity RR — one of 12 RR types in a set of 100 base types plus 61 parallel types; ours is the OSR printing (the corner reads EBP01-025OSR). Check it on the official card list — search "Chillet". Rarity is not the same thing as print run, and neither is a valuation.

Our own boxes: checked, first print
Our first BP01 allocation arrived and was counted onto our shelf on 1 September 2026, and the boxes passed the check: the box front reads "1st Edition BP01" top left and carries the "Palword" badge top right, the first print marker this page is about. We said we would photograph whatever we found, whichever way it went, so here is our own carton, shot at the count. As always: the badge tells you the printing, not that a product is genuine, and it changes nothing about play value.

Will there be a reprint?
The answer changed on 4 September 2026: yes, and it is dated. Bushiroad's official post announces additional 1st Edition shipments in September, then a 2nd Edition shipping late October 2026, every card marked with a Roman numeral II in the bottom right corner. The misprint notice's promise that the error "will be adjusted in future reprints" now has a run to point at. What is still not published: whether the September 1st Edition shipments already carry the correction — we won't guess, and the reprint-watch line at the top of this page stays our dated running answer.

Why collectors care: the Pokémon Base Set story
The reference point collectors reach for here comes from a different game entirely — we name it deliberately so nobody mistakes it for a Palworld figure.
Pokémon Base Set (1999) printed its first run with a small "Edition 1" stamp that later unlimited printings dropped. Two decades on, that little marker separated the market: one recorded 2018 sale put a 1st Edition Base Set booster box at US$56,000, while unlimited-print boxes traded around US$9,325 — roughly a six-times premium for the print-run marker alone.

That history is why print-run identification matters to collectors, and why BP01's officially confirmed packaging error draws attention: it is an external, photographable marker that a future corrected print will remove. It is not a prediction about Palworld — nobody knows whether BP01 follows that path, and most sets never do.

What this means if you're buying
- Check the badge. First-run packaging carries the misspelling; ask any seller claiming "first print" or "1st Ed" to show a clear photo of the top-right badge on the actual box being sold, not a stock image.
- Keep the packaging. With no officially disclosed card-level marker, a first-print box that's been binned is a claim you can no longer prove.
- Provenance beats assertion. Where a box came from is checkable; what a listing asserts is not. Our own boxes come through our official account with the game's Australian distributor, and when they list, the listing will state plainly whether the misprint check passed — in either direction.
