It started with wanting a hobby to share.
I was looking for something I could share with my son as he grows, and the search led me straight back to Pokémon. That meant the games I grew up on, which I'm replaying right now, and the cards my friends and I traded. The collecting itch never really left.
Then one video about people collecting again flipped the switch from hobby to business. I set up the eBay store that same night and ordered my first bulk cards the next morning. If something's worth doing, it's worth starting the same week and learning fast.
What we actually do
BackesTCG is me, my wife, and a very small person who is not yet much help with the packing.
We sell sealed Pokémon and One Piece product, preorders and bulk lots. Every order is checked as it's packed: if a card is bent, creased or marked, it doesn't go out, and if a sealed box reaches us damaged, it never reaches you.
That sounds obvious, but plenty of sellers don't do it, which is why we wrote the guarantee down and put our name on it.
Where we're going
Right now we're a small shop in New South Wales, trading here and on eBay, where the record is 100% positive across every order we've ever shipped, and you're welcome to check it. We're building this store properly rather than quickly.
The plan is sealed product at real scale: booster boxes and cases through official distribution, so we can offer proper range at proper prices. We're working on that now, and Magic: The Gathering follows Pokémon and One Piece as supply allows.
